A mashgiach's job is to supervise the student's spiritual and physical situation. The position is a product of the Mussar Movement founded by Reb Yisroel Salanter. Rabbi Salanter's talmid, Reb Simcha Zisel Ziv was the first Mashgiach as the Alter of Kelm. His talmid in turn, Reb Noson Nota Finkel, was the Alter of Slabodka and most famous of the mashgichim.
A mashgiach gives musar shmusen to give the bochrim ruchniyusdika chizuk. The Michtav Meeliyahu is a compilation of such shmusen given by Reb Elya Dessler. Other compilations exist. A mashgiach also often enforces the yeshiva's rules such as attendance. Mashgichim also act as the yeshiva's unoficial guidance counselor and psychotherapist and are the first person to intervene when a bochur exhibits emotional problems or requires general guidance in life. |

Thank you, Webster. I know of a person who is looking for a job as mashgiach in a yeshiva...for boys, not food. Why do I need to tell you specifics about this person? If you know of annything give me a number or the fax number to fax a resume. It's between that person and the yeshiva. |

Generally people look for these positions not vice versa. (and the same goes for your PM) -------------------- Does anyone read signatures?

Something has got to be wrong if every poster misunderstood you. Generally people look for these positions not vice versa. (and the same goes for your PM) It's not possible that everyone here misunderstood me, I think people here make themselves misunderstand me. Ok, so people look for these positions too but why can't I ask the public on this site if they know something? This site has a huge public from around the world, isn't that better than any Jewish newspaper you can find? |
