Rav Nassan informs us of a very interesting attribute in women he considers a defect. But I'm not sure if Brianna or most of the posters here would agree.
--- Also, separate point. "One of them [a resident of Eretz Yisrael] is better than two of us [in Babylonia]." Just thought I'd point that out. Rav Yermiyah would often use the phrase "foolish Babylonians!" (Or "idiot Babylonians!") While native EY residents wouldn't be so harsh. The phrase isn't used by anyone anywhere else in Shas (according to Rav Artscroll) except, my hero, Rav Zera! The common denominator? Artscroll points out both Rav Yermiyah and Rav Zera made Aliyah and they were the only ones brazen enough to use that phase. Makes sense. That must have been written by an Israeli Artscroll person because no "idiot lakewood guy" would come up with it... -------------------- There are a number of ideas that literally form the backbone of Judaism. Without knowledge of these ideas, it is virtually impossible to know how Judaism came to be as it is today, or how it functions. Unfortunately, however, the more important the idea, the less the average person knows about it. - Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Handbook of Jewish Thought
