Is it common to recite a shehechiyanu on a new tallit or arba kanfot? Is the shehechiyanu said before or after the berachah for the tallit? If you are one of those who obscures his arba kanfot because of the tzeirei chumra of the double hole for the arba kanfot, is it appropriate to recite a shehechiyanu, or is that immaterial and you just say the berachah in private?

I don't know why he saved it for when he got the aliya, but he has a 20-minute fast-paced derasha for everything under the sun. QUOTE I dunno.
