How come in benctching there are all those berachot if you forget ya'aleh ve-yavo or retzeih in benching and you already start the fourth berachah? Why isn't there for example some sort of make up berachah if you forget ya'aleh ve-yavo in the amidah and you already started Modim?

Maybe because you can "go back" in davening, but you have to start bentching all over if you mess up.....

Is it because Amida is structured as shevach- bracha- hoda'ah and birkat hamazon is all brachot?
