Hi Everybody,

I'm planning to move to Israel in a couple of months. In this connection I'm making a budget. However, I can not find internet and phone subscription prices. The web sites of such providers are only in russian and hebrew (I don't speak any of those two languages sad.gif ).

Can anyone, please, help me to find these prices ?

In France there's a company called FREE. They offer a modem which provides you with :
- High Speed Internet
- Phone with which you can call many countries for free
- Tons of TV-channels
++
Are there similar services in Israel ?

In advance thank you very much for your help :D

Regards

Depending on where you live there is HOT which offers Cable TV, VOIP Phone, and Internet service... AFAIK they are the only provider for all 3 services.

012 and Netvision offer internet and VOIP but you still need the Cable or DSL line from the phone company.

Or YES - satellite TV.

You could try calling or emailing those listed here: http://www.jr.co.il/hotsites/i-isp.htm

They all speak English (or if they don't you could request someone that does).

The problem is prices change like crazy! And you can bargain with them sometimes. So not everyone pays the same price for the same service.

Haha, is that true? You can bargain with the phone and internet providers? Wow, that's funny. Thanks for the advice.

Does the companies already mentioned have cell phone subscriptions too ?

No, cellphones are separate. There are 4 companies....
They also have price wars and are constantly changing their offers....

No. Cell phones are Orange, Pelephone, and Cellcom. (They are all linked from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellcom_(Israel) )

Point about bargaining - once they realize you are not native Israeli (which they will when you are speaking English) they will make it very hard to bargain with... the way to bargain is to get real quotes - and let them give you a reference number so you can call them back to get the price they quoted. Then call the others a keep mentioning the cheapest price you got from the other guy.

I have another question concerning internet subscription.

When ordering the subscription, we can probably buy a modem from the internet service provider. How much does if cost ? Can anyone please post a link to a web page (from the internet service provider) where I can see the modems they propose us ? It will take a lifetime to guess page by page if I try to read hebrew.

Thank you guys so much wink3.gif I hope I don't annoy you too much.

PS : I would call them myself, but it's very expensive to call Israel from my country. And my ip phone is broken.

Our modem came free, and we brought a router with us from the States.

Same here.

Usually the ISP provides the modem (loans it really since you must return it when you stop the service) and you provide the router if you want one.

or pays the same price each month dry.gif
also, just keep in mind that when the guy comes to install your line and whatnot, he might tell you a certain price, but really, he doesn't know what the heck he's talking about, so ignore him.

Pinchas, you forgot MIRS (which I apparently called even though I do'nt remember doing that...)

me (saying goodbye to my niece and nephew): Bye monkeys!
Nephew: Your hair looks like a banana.

(after taking money out of a bank machine)
nephew: Cool!! Can you do that again and give it to me?
Me: I dunno, I'll discuss it with Zaidy and get back to you.
