Personally, I think everything depends on the wearer. It depends who is wearing it and what else she is wearing. IMO that goes for practically every item of clothing besides for huge woolly sweaters that hang to your knees.

Sorry, but not really my tastes. You could find comfy sandals that would be cuter (JMHO). That said, I think one should express their own personal style and not care whether it meets others' fashion standards. Rock your shoes, whatever they are.
