Yesterday I had my first filling for absolutely decades. I have excellent teeth B"H.

However he gave me the following tip which is apparently now received dental wisdom.

Don't rinse your mouth out after brushing your teeth; let the toothpaste's protective qualities (eg fluoride) bathe the teeth for as long as possible. If you have a potential filling coming up, (eg at your last checkup the dentist noticed a tiny spot of decay..) put a little toothpaste on your finger and dab it on the affected area; it could help protect it.
