I am interested in a new camera.
Right now I have narrowed down my choices and think it's between the A580 and the SD750. I don't see any reason to spend the extra $50 or so $ on the SD one. Is there some feature that's important that the A580 is lacking. If you think neither of the above are good and have a different camera you would like to suggest, please do so. We are looking for a camera for basic household use - pictures of family around the house, when we go on day trips, ch"m trips, vacations (a rarity), etc. -------------------- Many people wish they could change their life, when all they really need to do is change their attitude towards life. - Sharon

You can take short videos on these cameras, and upload them to a file sharing program or for emailing, and I guess the 750 supports a wider range of formats for those movie clips. |

I say go for the sd1100 its has image stabilization which is a big plus especially if you want the kids to snap as well and it has an extra megapixel
You can get sd1100 online for 180 these days. the 750 lost its 15 minutes. Its so 2002. -------------------- If your next door neighbor got drunk on Purim, and then shechted, cooked and ate your pet duck, buying a giant flat screen TV to make him jealous is a much more productive way of getting even than, say, fire-bombing his car. That said, Chazal would probably have recommended you do t'chias hameisim on the duck. ~krumlikeapretzel |

The SD series is much more portable - I bought an A series a while ago and I find it cumbersome.

I'm happy with my powershot a410 as an emergency camera (when my rebel is not available). But it's awfully slow and bad for indoor shots.
