Do they have the equivalent of Argos or any big shops that sell everything reasonably cheap in Israel? What about buying online, is there a big market for that? ebay Israel?

Zap is a decent place to look for gadgets and home items. It's more like shopping.com, in that it's a price comparison engine. I use it a lot.
If you live in the periphery, learning to shop online is helpful. I'm still new at dealing with the Hebrew terms and the stoooopid checkout systems (many don't actually work yet, and they almost all demand that you become a site member I purchase all sorts of stuff from books to an "aron kir" that was 1/2 the price anyone in town would quote me. Just used a big chunk of my "dmei havra'a" to purchase a new keyboard/organit to upgrade the kids. The music store in town closed, and even though the owner has a full page ad in the local ad paper, he never answers. Someone gave me a used Dicota laptop backpack and I loved it. When the zipper died, I went online to purchase another one. No stores near me carry it, but plenty do in the larger cities and online. If anyone has recommendations on good kitchen stores online here, I'd love to hear. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement for my gold coffee filter (stainless steel will do). Maybe time to try a french press instead? -------------------- Got Teshuva? Got Tefilla? Got tseddaka?
