Should a cable sweater be worn with a patterned skirt or only with a solid colored one?

(cable sweaters are best worn by girls on a couch holding a mug of hot chocolate with the snow blowing outside and she keeps on doing that thing with her hair while coyly looking at you and talking about some Erich Segal novel with you on a Bnei Akiva shabbaton)

Oh ok, got it. I think it depends. In general, I would go for solids, but if the pattern had colors that matched the sweater exceedingly well, I would go with it as well. (I don't think it's as black/white as solids though.)
