What would you be willing to give up to have good skin? I was reading that some dermatologists say acne sufferers should go off of all milk products. Someone told me she was told to go off of salt for six months. Would you be willing to do this?

Depends on how bad the skin is.

Someone told me she was told to go off of salt for six months. Would you be willing to do this? Personally, I wouldn't do it. I don't have great skin, but if I couldn't have any milk, I'd half starve to death. And salt? That means you couldn't eat meat because no matter how much you wash out the salt, there's still plenty left. |

Shrug, DD did that already. She did everything. She finally went on Accutane.

I cannot give up salt unless I want my blood pressure to be deathly low. (and I like salty food but that's a secondary problem.)

I wouldn't now, but maybe I would have when I was dating.

Depends on how bad the skin is. Bad enough that even with makeup, you can tell that the skin isn't great. Shrug, DD did that already. She did everything. She finally went on Accutane. "Shrug"? It wasn't a big deal for her? Or looking good is paramount to her? |

It was an enormous deal. Her entire back, chest and arms were covered. It was beyond vanity, IMO.
That said, taking Accutane can be playing with fire. The risks are many and don't always show up right away. She decided it was worth it. -------------------- "Scientific experimentation is like sex. Sometimes something useful comes out of it, but that's not why they do it." Lyric

and some derms say to go off all processed pasta (and the like) products. They compared the US population with some tribes in the Amazon (iirc) and found not one had acne breakouts. They decided it was because they don't refine their grains.

They decided it was because they don't refine their grains. Its probably more likely because of their lack of chemicals in their food and their lifestyle differences. 9 -------------------- "Eat. There's other good food besides for refined grains. Why else did Gd create such a cornucopia of different types?? -------------------- "Life is a combination of magic and pasta." -Federico Fellini |
