Brooklyn and Manhattan people: have you been having worse allergies than usual lately?

If you are having both allergies and sinus problems, and you treat the allergy, are you automatically rid of the sinus problem?

what's the protocol for that? is your companion suposed to say gesundheit/la-bri'ut/asuta for each successive sneeze or is it ok to wait till you have finished?

It depends on who you ask, and it also depends on whether the person has a chazaka of being a multiple sneezer.....

What happened to Lawn Guyland? You decided not to visit this year?

You know, for years I thought the word "aseesa" was yiddish. smile.gif

You wouldn't be copying me, would you?

I'm still looking for a position, and would encourage others who have connections, especially in NYC, or Lawn Guyland, to contact me for my resume.

Today, I was driving through rural Lawn Guyland, and spotted an Entemann's bakery/outlet store.

Hmm. I was sure kalashnikover has used that term in the past. Perhaps he copied you, too?

I did hear it from someone before I found h.com, so I can't claim to have originated it.

What does asuta/aseesa mean?

Jastrow translates it literally as "cure, remedy". It's Aramaic for good health.
It's what one says to someone who has sneezed since we don't want to be like Yaakov Avinu and drop dead when we sneeze.

Thank you.
Maybe Yitzchak Avinu?
