the poem escapes the compound of religion
like a novitiate over a convent wall.
old habits are sh ( r ) ed into dandelion cotton
and rosary becomes fashionable jewelry.

it will alter tense from the past, salvage
a few poetic terms to lighten the baggage
shuffle the Tarot for the one-card spread:
the Magician.

it smiles and stretch its legs, lights a Courvoisier
Cigarillo, forgoing the Gideon's Bible in the drawer,
envisions a commune of music, words and art:
Tagore, Cummings and Chagall; Rachmaninoff,
Qabanni and Picasso. Mozart, Rumi...

it dreams of extinguishing forced rhyme,
personal angst, clichés and incoherent syntax;
unearths Coptic scrolls with gnostic diagrams
revealing how to bring it to pass,
envisions museums with fossil remains of
fundamentalist walls torn down,

sees the faces of tourists; aghast.

Nice words... Nice thoughts... Do you think the Tarot and Art have any common between themselves? rolleyes.gif

why are you asking? i didn't appreciate the rolley-eyes in your response to begin with. i'm not an f'n idiot that doesn't know what i'm talking about. my poetry is not open for spiritual debate regarding what is or is not appropriate to religious (or personal) systems of belief. it is, however, open for technicalities. does your question reflect a technical issue or is it in relation to a spiritual one? and if it's technical, then why the rolley-eyes to begin with? if it's something spiritual, keep it to yourself or start another thread somewhere else and i'll engage you there. but not here in creative expression.

i apologize if this seems harsh and i have misunderstood your intent or you happened to choose the wrong smiley-face to begin with. i just believe in the separation of church and state and art. there is enough censorship as it is.

To say sincerely? Well... Few days this your thread had not even one reply. Only for this reason I asked pair of very simple questions in order to raise your thread to the top of the roll. For attention of the other members. I didn't think it will irritate you. So one short word in the end -- sorry. pardon.gif

replying doesn't irritate me. although, replying simply because there hasn't been a reply does irritate me. i don't mind if it's ignored. on the contrary, i'm quite used to it. the arts are not exactly prevalent or a priority on this board. as previously explained, i thought you were attempting to initiate controversy regarding the content of the poem. had i known your action was simply one of pity due to lack of replies, i wouldn't have responded to begin with. be that as it may, no problem.
