'part' of the harry potter universe. beedle the bard was mentioned in one of the hp books. Since, the HP narrative is done, this is another story about their world.

There are a number of ideas that literally form the backbone of Judaism. Without knowledge of these ideas, it is virtually impossible to know how Judaism came to be as it is today, or how it functions. Unfortunately, however, the more important the idea, the less the average person knows about it. - Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Handbook of Jewish Thought

You read it and it didn't grab you, or you didn't read it?

Do you like other fantasy books like Oz or Mrs. Piggle Wiggle or Narnia?

i can't explain it. i guess the best way to say it would be that it just didn't grab me. i don't really dislike it, it's just not something i would spend much time with. i remember being talked into going to one of the movies in exchange for dinner and wine once. i was like ... o 0 (will this ever end...) and my friend was like squealing with joy.

I sometimes find it hard to like things that everyone likes and talks about all the time.

Me too. Especially since there's usually an inverse relationship between popularity and quality.

Because it was awesome!!!! I know, it didn't help that you were dragged to the 5th movie, and didn't have much idea what was going on. I'll have to find some other poor victim to drag to the next one in November. smile.gif

I'm definitely getting one of those books too. I'm glad she decided to publish them for everyone, plus it's nice that the profits are going to charity. She already has more money than she could ever spend in a lifetime.

yes, the dinner and wine was. smile.gif one suggestion; perhaps a bottle some wine before the next one?

I don't know, wine might not cut it. You might need a bottle of the "secret ingredient."

That's true for a lot of things (like most winners of American Idol), but the Harry Potter books are really an exception. I think they will become classics. I read a lot of literature, and I'm not ashamed of the fact that I've read every single Harry Potter book multiple times. (But then, that could be a sign that there's something wrong with me. smile.gif )

They won't. In twenty years nobody will read them. Parents will want their kids to read them but their kids won't be interested.
