I've wanted to go for three years now, but I've been out-of-town during the con. Now I'm in Baltimore, but the thing starts on erev Shabbos Chazon and ends 2pm on Tisha B'Av... I really want to go. If I arrive early on Friday, avoid the music and the screenings and stick to the industry panels, actor's Q&A sessions, and the dealer's room, leave b4 Shabbos and not come back during the big fast... Man, the guilt... -------------------- G-d, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,
The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Ahavah: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Ahavah's 3-year-old Princess (Niece): "I wanna be an ice cream flavor!" Ahavah's Stance on Shidduchim: "No, I'm only dating Deaf guys now. Because I can't see them sign and they can't hear me speak, so we'll have no communication problems!"From this post want a pony? |

Oh if I were anywhere close to Baltimore I'd join you.
What cool about the conference name is that it's a play-on-words: it can mean otaku conference (ヲタコン)or otaku spirit (ヲタ魂) |

*in awe* Kon=soul! (but it's pronounced "kone", right?)
Right! I shoulda known that! I'm a Bleach fan! I've only been to one anime convention. I came late on Sunday and missed most of the good stuff. I love AMV's and Japanese music, but it's the 9 days, so, my question to you, Krum, is, can I avoid all that stuff and just go to the panels and the actors Q&A sessions? Or do they play music all over the halls at these things? I was drooling over the schedule. Laura Baily (Tohru in Fruits Basket!), Yuri Lowenthal (Sauske in Naruto!) and Funimation (the company that's dubbing Ouran High School Host Club) are all gonna have panels there...on Friday... -------------------- G-d, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,

*in awe* Kon=soul! (but it's pronounced "kone", right?) "kon". By itself it's pronounced "tamashii". Kon is the "onyomi" (sino-Japanese reading) ETA:it's the "damacy" (~damashii) in "Katamari Damacy" QUOTE I've only been to one anime convention. Or do they play music all over the halls at these things? They might play music all over the halls, but then again you can rarely hear it because of the din...

Does it matter if you're not going for the music? They play music in the supermarket too. (Don't take my post as what you should do, I would just think.) -------------------- When a small man casts a large shadow, the sun is setting.
