I have a frum friend who is currently enrolled in grad school, set to start on the 18th, pending his ability to pay fot it. It is a professional school with an excellent tack record. My friend is perfectly capable, has worked before, and has tons of experience in the field (hence he has a very high chance of success in the program).
The problem is, his credit is not so great, the same with any cosigners he can locate. He has gone through al the normal channels (state, student loans, etc) but it does not cover enough. He is not looking for a free loan, he is perfectly willing to pay any intrest, if he could only find a loan. Are there any resources or organizations, heimish or otherwise, or individuals who can help out in ituations like this? We are in the NYC metro area. |

Try Prosper.com. It's worth a shot.
ETA: Also make sure he applies for every scholarship he's eligible for. My sister is getting 80% of her tuition paid for with a combination of three or four scholarships. -------------------- "Except for the most part what people seem to be pining for is licentiousness and debauchery and culinary experimentation, rather than wearing a srugie and a blue shirt at a simchah sitting next to a person of the opposite gender while eating fresh strawberries while checking your emails from the Sen.
