My brother is getting married, IYH, in 10 days. They will be moving to Israel a week or so later, in time for the Elul Zman. Their apartments keep falling through and apparently it's very hard to find something now. Do any of you Israeli (or non-Israeli) people have any ideas? have you heard of anything that is available?
Basically they want either a 1- or 2- bedroom apartment not too far from the Mir. They are really not picky but the cost should be the norm for the area, nothing too outlandish. Please post or PM if you can think of anything. Thanks! -------------------- www.adiel.com Sukkos fun!

My brother is getting married, IYH, in 10 days. mazel tov -------------------- My dog doesn't lick his own butt. He doesn't eat poop or step in it. I'll concede that he does smell other dogs' butts and he does lick "himself." I'd prefer it if he doesn't lick me right after that, so I employ a few minutes of buffer time between licking other things and me and I try to get him to drink some water too. - VLG

Mil lives right there overlooking the Mir. If you still have no leads, I can ask her.

They are really not picky but the cost should be the norm for the area, nothing too outlandish. Mazel Tov! The problem is the norm for the area is outlandish. Are they looking to rent or buy? Are they making Aliyah or just spending the year? I will keep an eye out for any signs posted. -------------------- There are a number of ideas that literally form the backbone of Judaism. Without knowledge of these ideas, it is virtually impossible to know how Judaism came to be as it is today, or how it functions. Unfortunately, however, the more important the idea, the less the average person knows about it. - Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Handbook of Jewish Thought

They are not making aliyah, they are looking to rent one year at a time. bigToe, I'm awaiting to hear if Meah Shearim is an option, if so I'll let you know. -------------------- www.adiel.com Sukkos fun!

There's Yisa Bracha. You pay a small fee (I think 137 nis or so?) and they'll fax or email (your choice) you apartments that are available in your price range in the neighborhoods you're interested in, daily. 9722-500-0405.

Forgot to mention Luach.com-Israel. Post there in long-term rentals.
There are also about 30+ yahoogroups for every neighborhood from the Old City to Kiryat Moshe to Ramat Eshkol. Dooesn't hurt to post in those neighborhoods too and see if people can recommend anything in the 'hood you're looking for. Post ads on the bulletin boards (other than Mir's) in the english-speaking parts around there: Maalot Dafna, Arzei, even Ramat Eshkol (on Para'an). You never know who knows who that has an apt in Beis Yisrael -------------------- "Life is a combination of magic and pasta." -Federico Fellini |
