Why do some people feel like they own the train car, and yell and laugh in a full voice? What's the matter with people? We're talking sober people, the drunks have an excuse.

I rate this as a 7 on a 1-10 scale of Train Etiquette violations.

Yesterday there was a black guy on my train who was just sitting there and laughing hysterically. I think he was on some sort of a trip.

I don't think there's a need to whisper on a train. I also don't think there's a need to yell/laugh in a loud voice, but I think normal toned conversations can take place on a train, just like in any public area.

Should have taken a vid. Stuff like that is what keeps rides interesting.

Maybe, but then he got up and continued laughing. At that point people were apprehensive - who knows, maybe he'll pull out a knife or something.

I love the train...i could stare at people all day...The worst is when you want to stare at some weird angry people having a fight but your scared that if you look at them they might just pull out a gun and shoot you. So therefore if you are being loud on the train we are allowed to stare so don't you dare pull out that gun!

But now that i think about it at times the train is really loud and to be heard you have to almost scream to the person next to you..

Right I don't mean that situation, I mean someone who is much louder than the background noise. Almost every day there's a group of people like that.

I think that taking the train for the last year is turning me into a grumpy old man always wanting to tell people off. Or maybe it's just a coincidence and I'm just becoming a grumpy old man sad.gif

Once again, we need an other, LOL! Depends on the situation - which also depends on the topic. If they are loud about "saving your soul", talking about their latest...stupping (whether they be male or female), lots of curses, the I don't like it.

If they're just talking about sports, weather, cooking, etc., doesn't bug me so much.

Hey if you are all alone and nothing better to do then why not listen in...I mean there really isnt much else to do. Who cares if they are screaming justg means you dont have to look at them to listen..

Yesterday there was a Russian guy on the subway who had horns and a tail. And he kept slapping this woman's knee with his tail. People were really scared.

Why? Because they have bad middos. or they think what they're saying is really important for everyone to hear.

Like the two people arguing whether Obama or McCain would make a good president. Interesting to hear in NY where I've only seen Obama t-shirts so far.

Aren't all people on the train on some sort of trip?

Does McCain make t-shirts? I've never seen a McCain t-shirt. T-shirts are a young person thing.
