I think it would be neat if there was a book of mariage annecdotes meant to give someone a fairly balanced view of what marriage can be like, both in terms of the good, the neutral, and the bad.
like the story lyric provided above. and I suppose the book would be for the purpose of A informing people who come from broken homes exactly what marriage can entail, in a realistic and informative way, via stories. B informing the aforesaid of what would be realistic expectations, and helping them to be appriciative of the aforesaid, via stories, C for the purpose of inspiring those who are currently married to better behavior towards their spouse, and D for chizzuk when you feel like your marriage is going wrong, to know that this is just a phase and if you ride it out, it will pass. I was thinking it would be neat to have a whole bunch of annecdotes showing the full spectrum of marriad experiece from the really good to the really bad, from the normal to the outragous (both good and bad) and hopefully with an eye towards giving people perspective on the issue. (and whatever else might be gleaned.) and I think it would be neat to collect such stories on H and publish them eventualy, but I would think that we'd have to do it totaly anonymously and use the same pseudonyms for every couple, ie something like Yaakov and Rochel, or moshe and tzipporah, or something, so that noone is easily identified and privacy isn't compromised. what do you think? -------------------- "well has beruria spoken"

Isn't that more or less what every marriage book is like?

Try this:
http://www.eichlers.com/Product/Wedding_Ce...uides/Marriage-[Hardcover]-_2730.html I remember it to be full of anecdotes. Just keep in mind, most stories in marriage books are negative, just becuase thats when you need the help so you won't nessecarly be getting a full picture. Oh and I personally thing its a great idea to read marriage books before you are ready to get married. It gives you practical ideas of how to change yourself and the truth is its useful stuff in any type of relationship. -------------------- Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right

Just a large collection of stories surrounding married life, ranging from the innane to the extrodinary or outragous. -------------------- "well has beruria spoken"

Any book on any section of life should look something like: ![]() The rest don't matter. -------------------- |

You want someones diary? not necesserily. something a bit more comprehensive than one persons life, and a bit more anonymous. People have specific challenges, they'll have certain ones and not others, that biases the book. -------------------- "well has beruria spoken"

I wonder how many people realistically would read this type of book unless they were experiencing difficulty in their marriage. A forming-storming-norming-performing-adjourning model would give people the preparatory info they'd need, as well a a guide to troubleshooting specific problems. Then, the anecdotes would have some illustrative value, as opposed to just being a collection of stories.
