I know a girl who desperately needs to go to a therapist, and is willing to go, but her parents are refusing to pay for it. She herself cannot afford to pay for professional help. Does anyone know of someone in the NY area, either person or organization that would be able to find her free/subsidized help? It is really hatzolas nefashos.... This girl is practicallt hopeless without professional help.

There are Bikur Cholims that give sliding scale fees which can help some. There is an organization that helps with funding, but I don't know if they have any openings for applicants, as they are BOGGED down with requests. If she lives in New Square, there is an org that helps with funding in NS only.

Some colleges have a department where their graduate students (with supervision) conduct therapy sessions for a very low fee. Contact NYU, Columbia etc. and see what they suggest.

Usually they'll pay for a certain number of hours or visits per policy period. -------------------- דעלך סני לחברך לא תעביד
