Cat adopts rabbit (video)
this is a really cute video. I think there are alot of lessons from this, but it seems like just about a real life example of the wolf lying with the lamb. (and I think if a bunny can nurse from a cat, so can reform and orthodox jews learn to love each other and get along.) -------------------- "well has beruria spoken"

What they don't show you is when 6 months later the whole litter of cats uses the cute bunny as target practice....

What they don't show you is when 6 months later the whole litter of cats uses the cute bunny as target practice.... i dunno guy, i had a lop and it was big as hell, larger than average housecat anyway i dont think a cat would mess with it, in fact i had it near a cat the cat just kinda went "wth is that" and walked awway. i miss my rabbit, it used to come when i called it and follow me around the house and make me rub his ears. -------------------- נ נח נחמ נחמן מאומן

What they don't show you is when 6 months later the whole litter of cats uses the cute bunny as target practice.... Actually, when raised together they typically won't view the bunny as food. When Iwent back to work after my injury, I got a kitten at the local shetler to be a "companion" for my little pup [he became my service dog when I was injured & is now trained to alert me if my blood sugar gets too low]. They get along like they were the same species! It's very funny to watch them chase each other around & wrestle. She (Sophie the 5 lb. cat) will even tackle him (Milo, 18.5 lbs). I'll have to remember to put up a pic I have of both of them sleeping in Milo's "den" (crate with the door off). -------------------- It's like classic h.com discussions: He who does what I don't do is an ignorant fanatic and he who doesn't do what I do is beneath my religious contempt. - meleh Once, many moons ago when morals still existed.... - TDP [Sephardic-Male] doesn't bother with facts - NY-LON |

how does he know when that happens? and how was he trained? please do (yesterday we went to a family who has a cat for a seuda - my daughter loved it but was still afraid to pet her Well, I first found out that he had this ability when I was injured. He, on his own, would hop in my lap, look into my eyes, & smell my breath. If he thought I needed my meds (and he was never wrong!!) he would "kiss" my cheek, jump off me, then bark. If I didn't get up to get my meds in what he felt was soon enough, he'd start barking & run between me & the room my meds were in. So, when I wanted to train him to alert me about my blood sugar I already knew he had a good "nose" for it. I waited untill my sugar was in the 70's, then put on 2 pairs of sweat socks & did some exercising to get my blood sugar lower (a friend was with me so I wasn't in any danger doing this). After an hour, I took off the socks & used them to train him. I would hide the socks & when he found them & barked at me, he'd get a treat. Now he just does it on his own. He is very smart, even smart for a llaza/bischon mix (both smart breeds). He has a great personality, loves people & other critters, and gives you a very funny "elvis sneer" when he doesn't like something - whether it be a treat or the direction I want to walk him. I also like the fact that both breeds that he is comprised of have life expentancies of about 20 years...and mixed breeds tend to live longer. As he's about 4 1/2 now, he'll still (B'H) be with me when I retire! ETA: He doesn't care about my socks otherwise, but he loves to roll on my friend's socks when he comes over!
