We have been here in Bet Shemesh for a few days now. We spent shabbat in what will be our new neighbourhhod in the Rama. The whole thing is awesome.
My daughter has started camp and loves it. She told me that we "should never leave Israel". We are starting to accomlish things, and will get really busy trying to get stuff in order when we get our teudot zehut tomorrow afternoon. I spent today looking up work-related places in Tel Aviv, and havew managed to find most of the basics. On that same trip I learned that the tachanah mercazit and the tachanah mercaz are not the same place. Ooops. Detour. We have arranged for some, but not all of our appliances. We also still need mattresses and a diningroom set. Comming together okay though -------------------- "You gotta put down the ducky if you wanna play the saxaphone" -Ernie

Try not to be too euphoric because the initial "vacation" gloss wears off and you are left with the reality of living in a very very different country... but I'm jealous of you and I'd love to do it myself. Keep us informed!

Mazal tov!
Be aware that you'll need to be pushy in order to get anywhere, and that bureaucratics can be tough. Also, before you go to the misrad hap'nim, check their website. You don't want to get stuck. I take it that you didn't go through NBN. They have a walk-in registration that you can do now, and that may help you out in the future. Also, if you don't know the language well, just argue in English. But argue, and ask tonz of questions. Otherwise you won't get anywhere. If you need help, pm me- I just went thru this a year ago. Also- don't ever take a price as is. Try to get a discount- negotiate. Usually, they'll give it to you rather than lose the business. Keep us informed! Wrong! Let her be euphoric! Why not? She deserves it. Yes, of course it will wear off... but so what? -------------------- There are a number of ideas that literally form the backbone of Judaism. Let her be euphoric, yet aware of what may come. Awareness=alertness=foresight.

Wrong! Let her be euphoric! Why not? She deserves it. Yes, of course it will wear off... but so what? OK so long as it's sensible euphoria -------------------- "Mommy, is this the house where we are allowed to swing on the chairs, or the house where we're not allowed to swing on the chairs?"
