So my mother picked up this Daffy Duck DVD for .99 somewhere for my kids.
I walk into the room and I see Daffy hitting Hitler over the head with a hammer?!? -------------------- |

For my four year old? If you are worried about the violence, I think all of those cartoons are full of violence. If you are worried about the presence of Hitler, I don't think it would have much significance for a child, other than he might learn that people with pencil moustaches are bad. |

Tom and Jerry Bugs Bunny Road Runner Elmer Fudd Yosemite Sam HeMan GI Joe Voltron Transformers Thunder Cats (best show EVAR, BTW) As a matter of fact I can't think of a single cartoon growing up that WASN'T violent..... I don't think I'd like it (although, I have to admit that Hubby would probably find it hysterical).
It cartoonizes a (n immensely evil) historical figure in a way that makes him funny and trivial. -------------------- "But it's a dry heat."

Many of the cartoons during WWII period showed cartoon characters fighting Hitler. I believe there are also Superman cartoons of him fighting Hitler.

My kids do not watch violent cartoons, and I just felt Hitler was inappropriate despite the fact that my kids have no clue who he is.
My kids watch Magic School bus, little Einsteins, Diego and the like. I'm very particular about what they can watch. -------------------- |

Part of the wartime (and post wartime) propaganda. It been well documented that the entire media was well behind the United States in their war efforts (including WB, Disney, NBC amd the rest of the big three). Today it's pretty much the opposite with the exception of FOX... -------------------- There are a number of ideas that literally form the backbone of Judaism. Unfortunately, however, the more important the idea, the less the average person knows about it. - Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Handbook of Jewish Thought

Just as a show like the Simpsons was not created for a child audience, either were theses cartoons, so its a mistake presume it to be appropriate just because its a cartoon. -------------------- "I dont know Art, but I know pictures"
