my rosh yeshiva was want to tell us that after 120 years, you would be shown a video of someones life and asked to pronounce judgement. Afterwards it would be revealed to you that the like on which you pronounced judgement was your own life. (and hence you would have judged your life as you judged others)
hence hypocricy and having a bad eye are the two worst traits in life as far as the bais din shel maileh are concerned. ( so what do you think about this? -------------------- "well has beruria spoken"

It is like when Nosson (I think that's who it is) came to Dovid and told him a story and then told Dovid he was the character in story to which his reply was 'chatasi' -------------------- Many people wish they could change their life, when all they really need to do is change their attitude towards life. - Sharon

Well now that we know this, won't we pronounce a very good judgement on that video?

Well now that we know this, won't we pronounce a very good judgement on that video? Shhhh You can't bring logic into this. -------------------- "Shake off all the fears and servile prejudices under which weak minds are servilely crouched. What's his source? I don't know anymore. I once did though. Well now that we know this, won't we pronounce a very good judgement on that video? probably not. -------------------- "well has beruria spoken"

Well now that we know this, won't we pronounce a very good judgement on that video? considering that we won't be able, for whatever reason, to tell that it is our life and that it is us in that video, it seems as likely that we won't take the knowledge of what will happen as well. That, and I doubt G-d would be fooled so easily. I'm fairly sure he'd realized what your true judgment would be -------------------- Javol!

LOL. Logic is....
That you won't know it's your life. And you'll judge yourself the same way you judge everyone else. So work on the midda now! -------------------- על כל אחד ואחת להוסיף בתורה ובמצוות כדי להכריע את עצמו ואת כל העולם כולו לכף זכות!

so what do you think about this? For me, I don't think they'll have to pretend it's someone else's life. I think I'd be most capable of pronouncing harsh judgment where warranted. -------------------- דעלך סני לחברך לא תעביד

I suppose the best thing to do, after viewing the video, is to keep your opinion/judgement to yourself. (I don't know many people who could /would do that though!) |
