I think it was the 5 Hour hike in the Negev.

21 miles. But Sept 15 I'm doing a marathon, which will bring me up to 26.2 miles.

I dont' think I've ever walked more than 3 miles at a time. I used to walk to work daily which is a bit more than 3 miles. I haven't walked that much in a while (Actually in e"Y I probably did, but no way to measure.) Someone I know once walked 23+ miles to get home since it was too late and couldn't drive on Shabbos. -------------------- Many people wish they could change their life, when all they really need to do is change their attitude towards life. - Sharon

That'll leave you sufficient recovery time for the Toronto Marathon http://www.torontomarathon.com/ I don't think so. I know people who run one a month, but I think two a year is my limit. What I really want to do is the Badwater. http://www.badwater.com/route/index.html |

21 miles (with a mix of rain, hail and lightning thrown in for good measure).

I don't know about actual distance, but theme park trips always seem to end up involving miles of walking over the course of the day.

Someone I know once walked 23+ miles to get home since it was too late and couldn't drive on Shabbos. you're allowed to walk that far on shabbat? I've walked all over Paris, London, Jerusalem, and NYC but have no idea how many miles that is. Would start in the morning and end exhausted late at night. Also I've gone on a 15-mile-per-day hike, I think, when I was about 14. -------------------- Kabel et ha-emet mi-mi she-omro.

you're allowed to walk that far on shabbat? You are allowed to walk 2000 amot outside your "place of residence", which could be an entire city, and may include some of the suburbs. -------------------- I am DEMANDING that the Rabbonim start screaming about this.

Maybe the 3 hour hike.
I probably have walked longer than that shopping. -------------------- "If they would allow one dead soul to visit an assembly of philosophers, that would be the end of all their teachings."

you're allowed to walk that far on shabbat? I think part of walk started out before shabbos, but I also think it was all 'city-walking' basically never left the city limits or housing areas. as long as it's inside the techum, I think so me thinks so also. -------------------- Many people wish they could change their life, when all they really need to do is change their attitude towards life. - Sharon
