Does popcorn have any nutritional value? Assume it's the boring old plain popped kind without the butter/oil and salt added yet.

Basically yes, it does have nutrients. Not a lot though. It's a good dieting food.

assuming it's air popped, it's still a starch. simple carbs. i don't know if it's a good diet food, it isn't free like cukes or celery are.

It has lots of fiber, you can eat a large quantity of it, and it makes you feel full for a while so I'd say it's not a bad snack. Surely, it's not a meal.
