Man Kidnapped From Synagogue Escapes From Trunk
POSTED: 9:09 am EST March 3, 2006
NORTH WOODMERE, N.Y. -- A 75-year-old man was robbed and kidnapped Thursday while opening a Long Island synagogue for morning prayers, Nassau County police said.
The man was stuffed into the trunk of his car for about an hour until he was able to escape, police said.
The incident began at 5:50 a.m., when the man was preparing the Young Israel Synagogue in North Woodmere for the morning service, police said.
Police said the two masked robbers with guns demanded money from the man, who was not identified. The man told them he had no money, so they took his car and ATM card and put him in the trunk of the car.
The man said the robbers drove around for about an hour, making a couple of stops.
When the car stopped and the man didn't hear voices in the car anymore, he was able to pry open the trunk, escape and call police.

"How could you have a slogan like "freedom is slavery" when the concept of freedom has been abolished? The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking—not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness."

goes to show you what?
That we live in a crazy place. Im not saying that there is any better places but that the world in general is going "sour". I mean a guy was shot and killed in crown heights and according to english newspapers it was a hate crime. This guy was kidnapped and we dont even have to get into what is going on in france.

if it was a busy spot then they would not have gone there as they would have for sure been caught. I guess you are right.Remember the time of day...the area mentioned is residential and there aren't throngs of people roaming the streets at that hour.
