That's a pretty solid endorsement.
IIRC, he may have also supported the view that the Ramchal was a gilgul of Rabbi Akiva (note that the Ramchal was niftar at 40, the age at which R' Akiva began to learn).

They are also buried next to eachother in Teverya, a nice distance from any other grave sites.

sorry...but burial together only proves that people felt this way, it doesn't support the idea..
Actually, there's a story behind the Ramchal's burial there...not having to do with human intent...

I doubt in the writings of the Gra himself, I can only assume secondary sources.
I was hoping it would be written down by somebody who heard it from the GR"A, or at least from somebody who heard it himself from the GR"A.

off topic- you always know the sources of things- I imagine all your seforim take up so much room there is little space for the guests in your basement too. :D

That's the best I can do since only my siddurim are upstairs.
ya know, I was thinking about something someone told me that the Gra kept a copy of mesillat yesharim in his tallit bag. What do you think the odds are that's true? I would imagine the Gra wore his tallit all day and probably didn't have a tallit bag.

You don't put your tallis in the bag when you go to the bathroom in shul, right?
That said, I don't see why he wouldn't have had a tallis bag. I don't keep my shoes in a shoe box, but there are certainly shoe boxes at the bottom of my closet.
