Several post answers got me thinking about the different ages of different people here. Although there is another thread devoted to this topic, a poll is more anonymous and will maybe cause people to be more forthcoming.

Just the categories: one a year for gen X and Y, and everyone else lumped into a single category, speaks volumes.

I only did that because the list was long enough as it is and I figured that most people would fall into the middle choices. I apologize if it looks like I am neglecting certain groups. That was definitely not my intention.

It's interesting that so far, most people fall into the 25 and over category. I hope more people will vote so we can all get a better feel.

Oysh, I feel old. And 24 is not old! Last night I was talking with an ex-SDJ, who I went out with a few years ago, and he was stunned to hear how old I am now. (Guess I didn't age in his mind.) Sigh.

Nobody really knows, well maybe a few oldies do - but everyone else uses it and pretends they know what it stands for!

I've asked around privately and got some pretty interesting but diffrent answers!

It get's better when you ask people what g-sdj or f-sdj stand for.

Hey! I'm the one who coined the term in the first place.

SDJ = Shiddukh Du Jour. Whoever you're dating.
G-SDJ = The nickname I dubbed onto a guy I was dating last year. The "G" stood for a particular adjective I thought of in reference to him.
F-SDJ = Final-SDJ, i.e. one's chosson/kallah.

But shouldn't that be SDF - shuddich de facto?

chabadnik talmid chacham

Oxymoron?

Ok, that was gratuitous.

But hey, if you can't mock chabad, whats the world coming to?
Klal Yisrael is lucky that I wasn't a Rishon.

no, but id say OLDER chabadnik talmid chochom is silly. all the things sybmeister is saying are taught in the standard da ma shetoshiv l'misnaged courses to chabad youth. which is why you should never let your kid argue with a lubavitcher because they are specially trained. on the other hand, when you pit a lubavitcher against someone who has matured and done some learning of his own, the tide changes, as can be seen in many posts on H.com
"Spiritual wants and instincts are as various in the human family as are physical appetites, complexions, and features, and a man is only at his best, morally, when he is equipped with the religious garment whose color and shape and size most nicely accommodate themselves to the spiritual complexion, angularities, and stature of the individual who wears it."

"The despotism of heaven is the one absolutely perfect government. An earthly despotism would be the absolutely perfect earthly government, if the conditions were the same; namely, the despot the perfectest individual of the human race, and his lease of life perpetual. But as a perishable perfect man must die, and leave his despotism in the hands of an imperfect successor, an earthly despotism is not merely a bad form of government, it is the worst form that is possible."

-Mark Twain
