I would like to announce that our existing moderator, General Patton, will have his name changed to Mr. Rogers shortly.

If not for my attempts to be a "good Christian" (i.e. someone who follows what Jesus taught and not what the Pauline Epistles taught), I doubt I'd be an orthodox Jew right now. Shemmy

Thank you for appraising us of the change before it happened and avoiding confusion for the masses.
God, grant us the...
Serenity to accept things we cannot change,
Courage to change the things we can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference
Patience for the things that take time
Appreciation for all that we have, and
Tolerance for those with different struggles
Freedom to live beyond the limitations of our past ways, the
Ability to feel your love for us and our love for each other and the
Strength to get up and try again even when we feel it is hopeless.

the truth is, to me, they seem to be acting somewhat facetious with these changes in regards to a comment melech made, about the new moderators adopting names less threatening than the current ones had. you'll never convince me that General Patton chose Mr. Rogers willingly without some undertone of a reason. And don't even get me started on Doc or Clippy. God. Nope. This was some sordid joke between the moderation and admin which caused the pendulum to swing too far in the opposite direction.

Well go ahead, cut your own noses off to spite your faces and live with it. You're not being laughed with but at.

Performance rolling-fields-of-roses-and-dewey-meadows* kissing. That'll go far in securing popular confidence.

No, all you have to do is read that 45 page thread that you admitted you hadn't looked at, and you'll realize why this is a positive step. Of course some will twist it to find something wrong with it, but that's the nature of the beast. <_<
