The comments are so much more interesting on that site than on ratemyteacher. It's really used to pick professors, it seems.

In college people sometimes view ratemyprofessors.com as the begin-all and end-all. So subjective though. I've been disappointed by the ratings many times over.

I've looked up a lot of my teachers on there, and the descriptions were very accurate. It's a little subjective, but I think for the most part people can tell if a class is considered "hard" or not, or if the majority of the class liked the professor. I wouldn't completely rule out a class with a bad rating, but I'd definitely try to avoid it if I could.
