NOTE: if anyone is interested, the make the degrees sign, as in 350 F, hold down the <Alt> key while pressing 148 on your keypad.

167. (Are Canadian keyboards different than US ones?)
Also, it has to be on the numeric keypad, not the top row of numbers.

No, all computers it should work.
Make sure num-lock is on, and press alt-167 at the same time.

That is weird, it works even in a command line.
Don't let go of the alt before you press all the numbers.

-edit- Never mind, you didn't say you're on Linux.

(That's what I meant with my windows comment :) It makes sense it's OS related...which leads me to wonder if you're running a different version than Melech.)

AMber, if you put a keyword in the thread title, like "Cookbook Salads", it might be easier to search for the threads. That way someone can search for "cookbook" by title, and get all the threads.

Sure thing.

Alternatively, if the threads end up having legs, maybe you can get a sympathetic mod who supports you or the project to make a subforum.

Yeah, I already PM'ed Nechama about that. :)

It's been around since the DOS days. I think he just made a mistake in the number, if that's possible.

Not possible.

alt 248 yields 350F

Uh-Oh, my faith is being tested.

We need a recipe for humble pie in Amber's cookbook!

See, that's the problem. It's not mine; it's supposed to be an H.com cookbook. :bigcry:
