i think i set it so anyone can access and edit, but what are people going to see...do they see my email account?

Yeah, you can set a new email account just for this project if you wish.

Can we create a cookbook project h.com account?

if this is an h.com project, shouldn't anyone have very easy access?

maybe i should create a separate google account?

oh my, that's not good. yet something else to remember? i'm not sure i like that option.

but should i care if people see my email account name?

That's up to you.

to access the index spreadsheet, does someone need a google account?
because that doesn't seem so right...to make h.com people do that for an h.com feature.

I don't think so. Try it out.

Just create an account and post the login details here?

ETA: have whoever wants PM you for it.

my hesitation is the same hesitation that what said way upthread of doing this on google docs...I think, nay, I feel incredibly strongly, that ALL h.com projects MUST remain entirely on h.com, specifically on the open board.

EVERYTHING on h.com should, and must, be easily accessible to every single h.com member.

if you make this stuff on google docs, then people without access or the wherewithal or the secret password and handshake won't be able to contribute.

Take EZ123 who contributed a recipe. Would she have done so if she had to access some secret cookbook project h.com account?

Let me see if I can figure out how to upload and attach the spreadsheet...

You can post the gmail account and password on the main board for everyone's viewable pleasure.

I don't even know how to do that.

but you see, that's the problem, putting this stuff on google docs is putting up roadblocks

PM me the link?

I'm with Melech, leave it on board. The more tabs I have to open, less likely I am to use it.

but then people still have to know how to access the account.
it's not fair for the theoretical new member who joins tomorrow and doesn't know where on h.com to find the secret handshake.

imagine you're a new member. you see the cookbook project, and you post a recipe. very easy. but what if you had to find the secret handshake.

and I hate to say this, but it takes away from the main board...

Whatever for? All thats there is the index. If someone wants to see the index of the cookbook, they will click on this thread expecting to find it, and instead they will find detailed instructions on how to get to the document. That way whover wants can also edit.
