Idolatrous pan-halakhism isn't a joke, it's a heresy we're seeing RIGHT NOW.

I misread the title as:

charedim advised to use personal mechitzas meshigas on airplanes

One for all, all for one!

I don't agree! I'm just lazy to type.

I love it when people try to be more machmir and end up doing an aveira or causing averia's to be committed. Between this, "Mahadrin" buses, an attemped politically and idealogically motivated power grab attempt to oppress gairim and label non-Charedi rabbis and Beit Dins heretical overhaul geirus some Charedim are becoming experts at sinning in the attempt to be holier than what the Torah calls for.

as cynic's sig used to state, "you need a heter to be machmir -the shach."

additionally, the chazon ish (bk 10:5) rules that one may not issue a psak halacha which will result in a chillul haShem, even if the psak itself is halachically sound.
"Spiritual wants and instincts are as various in the human family as are physical appetites, complexions, and features, and a man is only at his best, morally, when he is equipped with the religious garment whose color and shape and size most nicely accommodate themselves to the spiritual complexion, angularities, and stature of the individual who wears it."

"The despotism of heaven is the one absolutely perfect government. An earthly despotism would be the absolutely perfect earthly government, if the conditions were the same; namely, the despot the perfectest individual of the human race, and his lease of life perpetual. But as a perishable perfect man must die, and leave his despotism in the hands of an imperfect successor, an earthly despotism is not merely a bad form of government, it is the worst form that is possible."

I'm getting a translucent hamper, something like the photo at Jameel's blog and using it as my costume (to be worn over my head or whole body depending on what size I find). And if anyone else is going to the "P" is for Purim Party in Jerusalem, come up with something else to wear.

I think I'll market decorated brown paper bags as "modesty head covers" for use on airplanes and charge $10 a piece ($3 of which would go to the Rabbi willing to issue the "hechsher").

It annoys me when people don't know halacha.

I have on the word of an Av Beit Din (not saying where) that the only place you need a machitza is in a synagogue.

That means that even the mechitzas on the Monsey buses are unnecessary, even if people daven on the bus.

Well, if you heard it from an anonymous Av Beit Din, then for sure this means that everyone else doesn't know halacha.

Another thing. I used to take my contacts off when I went surfing. Very effective method of shimirat ayin. Why aren't these guys being advised to take their glasses off?

Brilliant. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?

And the second letter in התר is?.. :)

in the gemara and poskim it's often spelled with the yud.
