I think brussel sprouts are one of those foods that people *could* like, if they were prepared in a more appealing way than most people make them (steamed? uh, no thanks).

Apparently the recipe my Mom is making with the b-sprouts is something involving onions and panko bread crumbs... I'm definitely going to give it a try.

I actually like steamed brussel sprouts. :p
Though you can also cook them with meat or chicken but have to be careful they don't melt.

Ended up buying KR's hated turkey rolata and sticking it in the rotisserie because baking it would take too long.
Eating it now with whole berry cranberry sauce, yams and beer. Elana came over with pineapple cake.

Turkey, asparagus and carrots roasted with almonds, candied sweet potatoes, salad (homegrown tomatoes, yellow pepper, scallions, shallot, olive oil, lemon juice and some pistachio Pereg), dressing made in muffin tins, cranberry sauce, apple pie, pumpkin pie and a purple sweet potato for good measure...

We ended up having whole broiled chicken and fried chanterelles. I love, love love the texture of chanterelles
(credit for both goes to my husband)

You just fried them? Any spices? And was it fried, or sauteed? I've never heard of fried mushrooms but it sounds delicious!

And was it fried, or sauteed?

What's the difference? Aren't both done in a frying pan?

Saute means with just a bit of fat.

Fry means with a lot of fat.

I never knew the difference.

Even the a bit vs a lot, doesn't it depend on WHOM is doing the frying/sauteeing?
