So have you experienced the new TSA procedures yet? Have you traveled over Thanksgiving? How did it go? Is it as bad as they say?

My uncle visted. Says they scanned him at Newark... "what ever they saw they saw." he said. Who knows about the health impact from the X-Rays...

I flew from LaGuardia to West Palm Beach and back. Neither airport had the porno scanner, though they are coming in the future, at least to LaGuardia. I went through the usual metal detector.

In West Palm Beach I saw a guard half-heartedly pat down a guy after he went through the metal detector, but it was not a sexual assault.

I flew to Chicago - It was normal on the way there but I had the backscatter on my return. So did everyone going through security. The TSA agent held me up after I went through and then asked me for a bribe. He was kidding, but he slowed the line, scared me a bit, and joking is really inappropriate. I doubt a bomb joke from me would have been as easily tolerated.

My traveling companion was furious and wanted to get the guy's badge, but I didn't want to start trouble and our flight was leaving in 35 minutes (hour long wait on the security line) so I wanted to get to the gate.

I flew through laguardia. Except for seeing a guy beg an agent(female) to do a body check, it was the same security as always. None of those scanners

but I had the backscatter on my return.

Was there the possibility of opting out? (I'm not questioning your choice, it's none of my business, I'm just curious if they're forcing people to go through the backscatter when it's theoretically optional).
And the rest of that story is awful. The abuse of power is disgusting.

I think there was probably an opt out for a pat down, but I didn't see anyone getting one. I didn't pay much attention and wasn't concerned. I don't care if someone in a remote place sees a scan of me, and I'm convinced enough that it won't kill me any faster than any of the other things that are killing me.

I wouldn't call it disgusting, but certainly inappropriate. If he's cracking jokes at all the passengers its another thing, but still highly unprofessional. (If i was asked by the TSA for a bribe i would take it as a lame joke, but theres no excuse to hold up the line)

Last week I went through Newark, JFK, Ft. Lauderdale, Cleveland, & Detroit.

Not scanned, not patted down.

On a related subject, there was a gay guy at San Francisco Airport who recently enjoyed his pat down a little too much!!! He was arrested because of his enjoyment

I think that should be the answer to everything on H.com. It was God's plan that these kids should end up in prison in Japan, just as it was God's plan that certain 8th graders shouldn't be accepted to either of the two schools they applied to. And also that a thirteen-year old should have a kid and that certain people should dream of sex with the president. It solves all problems with no need for discussion. - Xi

Considering that I have never seen a hot TSA agent, I was not disappointed by the lack of pat-downs.
