A few times since then, I was tempted to ask doctors for cough syrup with codeine, but was always afraid they'd think I was a druggie, so I never asked.

If a man stands in the middle of the forest speaking and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?

Codeine is a very effective cough suppressant, but, like all the opiates, can cause constipation. Just a little thought for those tempted by the cough-syrup sundaes......

Don't they say not to flush drugs because they get into the water system? I always thought you're supposed to mic them with coffee grounds or similar waste and put them in he trashwe waste liquid narcotics by pouring them down the drain, witnessed by another RN, and we enter our fingerprints into the narcotic system.
just flush it down the drain.
"The despotism of heaven is the one absolutely perfect government. An earthly despotism would be the absolutely perfect earthly government, if the conditions were the same; namely, the despot the perfectest individual of the human race, and his lease of life perpetual. But as a perishable perfect man must die, and leave his despotism in the hands of an imperfect successor, an earthly despotism is not merely a bad form of government, it is the worst form that is possible."

I dunno, but then our water systems are chock-full of dilaudid and fentanyl.
So what does one do when the lawyer and the doctor disagree?
the nurses ignore both of them and do what they want to do
